Help is my 2018 Transit Connect dry belt or wet belt?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, hoping someone can shed some light on whether my 2018 Transit Connect has a wet belt system or dry cam belt. I have seen differing information online. I was convinced it was dry, but im getting some silly lowball offers for it because a "wet belt" will need replacing soon. And now I'm second guessing myself.

I have a 2018 Transit Connect 1.5 Tdci 200 limited MSRT (39k miles not sure if thats useful info). It's a Doratorq engine not ecoboost. Was registered in March 2018 so assumingly built late 2017 early 2018. It's ULEZ compliant but doesn't take adblue.

I can't for the life of me find the engine code on the block or in the manual. The door card info doesnt seem to help either. I looked at the engine and seen a black plastic covering on the left of engine which assumingly would be the cam belt cover ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Definitely dry belt.
