Loss of power

Featured Replies

Hi, first time posting. I have a 2009 s max 2 litre. We have done a smoke test on it and found where the leak is and the cause of power loss. My question is has anyone fitted a induction air box intake hose pipe (pictures attached to see what part it is) and is it a hard job please. My car has a crack in the bit that I have circled.

Welcome & sorry I can't help as it looks nowt like 2011 pipework which disappears round back of engine and would likely be a nightmare!
This post will however, hopefully keep it at the top of the list!

It's in pretty much the same location, half way down the back of the engine.

Cheaper on ebay if you are buying brand new, there's a discount code as well.

@TomsFocus is it possible to actually remove and fit this part with the engine in place - it looks extremely cramped on ours?

Hope it can be done and @berlynza can report back as it is obviously needed (unless part can be cut and grafted on?)

I don't know on the S-Max unfortunately.  It may need the engine mount unbolted and the engine pulled forwards slightly.  It's not a job I'd want to attempt tbh.

On a 2009 model, I'd be trying to fix the crack with Araldite before going down the route of replacement.
