Ive currently been looking to change the Alloys on my 2014 1.25L 5dr Zetec and just having a hard time understanding whether the alloys I've been looking at will fit , The alloys ive found are 17inch with 205/40R17 and im pretty sure my alloys are 15 inch with 195/55R15 will these be too big and if so what should i look for , Thanks

Okay so what im hearing ill be sound as a pound , i also checked on official ford website with compatibility checker and the 17 inch wheels fit no bother so should be good , also saw a post with someone asking the same question couple years ago and they said they dont rub but if they do you get some wheel thing that fixes the problem

205/40/17 is ST size so they do fit, but you will lose some ride comfort.

Steering rack limiters are the thing you need if they rub.  Just physically stops the rack turning so far at full lock.

Limiters might not be needed depending on the offset of the new wheels, but I see Ford have an offer on at the mo:

We found our 1.25 had plenty of grip for the available power on the standard tyres, but I guess the 17s do look good. I still see lots of non-ST Mk 7/7.5 cars around with 17s which were quite a popular option. 

As an aside, I do find the limited lock on the Mk 8.5 ST a bit of a nuisance at times - I need an extra couple of goes to get into my favoured "out of the way" parking spot at Tescos!

Better hope they don't rub then , considering they wouldn't fit my car according to ford

Just had another look at that site, weirdly in one place it says they dont (area in red), further down the page it says they do!

I've had a similar experience myself with my car, do a search and you get a link to the site and the part number, then you click.on the site and it says it doesn't fit!

Ford are weird like that , either way they are well priced for the wheels im getting so its either i get them and they rub and i just sell them on for profit or just install / get someone to install the limiters
