Hello, no one can give me a straight answer on wether my ford transit connect 1.5 ecoblue 2019 has a wet belt or not. Hopefully someone on here can give me one. Thanks in advance guys

    No it doesn't.

    It has a dry belt

    It also has a chain connecting the cams together which can snap

    10 years or 108,000 miles for the belt.

    The chain doesn't have an interval.

    I've seen them fail at much less than that as well, 40k even, so very difficult to make a personal recommendation on replacing the chain early.

    At the moment I'd definitely want the chain checked or replaced at the same time as the belt, but given the large cost involved, it's probably not worth doing it at say 50k 'just in case' on most of them.  I wouldn't be able to trust any with the 7mm chain myself, as being left stranded is of far more importance than the repair cost to me, but this sort of thing is the reason other people buy breakdown cover & extended warranty.
