Replacement rear door - window control issue

Featured Replies

Hi, I got a used passenger rear door fitted today om my 2016 Galaxy 2.0 Diesel. Initially the garage had trouble getting the door to lock/open until they used some contact cleaner on the door wiring harness.

Seemed everything was working after that, however i forgot to check if i could roll the window down using the drivers door control unit ! unfortunately i cant get the switch to control the newly fitted door window.

I am hoping there is a recalibration i need to do ? The door i purchased is visually identical and was listed as being compatible for 2015 - 2018 Galaxy's.

just to add, even when the car power is off the new door, i still can lower and raise the window which cant be done on the other windows.

I am wondering if i can disconnect the loom plug of the new rear door (without taking door off ?) just to give it a clean and make sure that's not the issue.

Did the garage that fitted the door fit the wiring harness from your original door into the replacement one?

It sounds as if the wiring harness in the replacement door is not compatible with your car.

Almost certainly the incorrect door harness is fitted. There are at least 6 versions available for your car and they are not interchangeable.

When fitting a used (second hand) door to any vehicle, every part of the original door should be transferred over from the old door. Especially the door latches, the wiring harness, and any door control modules.
