Keyless entry on rear doors

Featured Replies

I've put this exact post on Forscan, but maybe someone here can help? Please...

Hi all

I've bought a 69 reg Focus estate Vignale. It doesn't have keyless entry on the rear doors.

It has the wiring in the floor loom going up to the doors, just not in the doors. I've got 2 rear keyless handles and connected it all up. I've been on Cyanlabs and found what I need to change in BCM to enable the rear handles.

The line I need to change is 726-73-01  XXXX-X1X1-XXXX. The 1s being left and right rear cap sensors enabled. The problem I have is my BCM only goes up to 726-27-08.
I'm really stumped. Surely my BCM with Adaptive LED lights, head up display, adaptive cruise and every thing else you'd expect on a Vignale is pretty far from a basic BCM.

Maybe my BCM is not on Cyanlabs???

Anyone able to help?

Thanks
Gary

Cyanlabs? I thought they only did Sync

You may need to upgrade the software in the DDM & PDM and the BCMi to enable it.

Cyan labs have got loads of as built databases. I am wondering if my BCM is even covered though and its a bit newer than their databases. They've got 2011-2018 or 2018-2019, plus some much older ones.

Cars having a load of software updates done tomorrow, so will see if anything changes after that

You may need to back date the firmware to a prior year, it could have been removed completely

Ah, really? I need to find someone with a similar year that had it. Spoke to someone who had a 68 plate, and that had it. Doesn't own the car anymore though

My one has it, whenever I get the car back from the garage (random low oil pressure light on Monday), I'll send you my as-built.

That would be really helpful. Thank you

Had all the software updates done. A mate of mine at a Ford dealer. He hates doing them, so I don't want to run back crying to him just yet, but, since I got it back, the interior boot lights are flashing on and off. Rhythmically, not sporadic. On for half a second, off for half a second. No warning on dash to say tailgate open.

Disconnect battery, reconnect. Works ok.  Open, close tailgate,  lights work fine. Turn ignition on, they go back to flashing, and stay like it

Any ideas Please?

Fixed that. I had configuration not complete on BCM. All ok now

Also someone on Forscan suggested I edit 726-10-01. I now have working keyless entry on the rear doors. Very happy

This is not needed, rear capacitor handle sensors are connected directly to the BCM, DDM/PDM has nothing to do with it. Also, as we can see now, that was just a few bits to change in BCM. Finally, we have a complete recipe

IMO, rear keyless entry is very useful, practically I mostly use rear doors to close the car.

Ah I'm glad you got it sorted, I only just got my car back this evening so hadn't had a chance to send you my as-built.

No worries. Thank you for the offer anyway

Hello. I would also like to set the rear doors to open without a key. What characters did you change in line 726-10-01?
Thank you.

I would expect it to be the same changes as those originally stated for line 726-73-01

In 726-10-01  XXXX-XXXX-X*XX. Here I had 0, I had to change it to 5

I don't think that's good. I found these from cars with similar features, but I'm waiting to see if the author of the post writes.

Could you give me the whole number sequence?

the whole line was 2012-130F-F082, but I only changed the second digit in the third block from 0 to 5.  There is also 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E and F you could try, but 5 was the only number that worked for me on my 2019 model

Hi!

I'll definitely try it. If 5 doesn't work, I'll test the other options. I'm confident that I'll finally be able to set it up. The handles have been in place for a while now, but they haven't worked.

Thank you very much.

have a look at my original post on Forscan. The person who helped, linked to the spreadsheet, but its for a Maverick. 5 works as he suggested, but studying the spreadsheet, I though 6 would be better, but it doesn't work.

Yours is a bit newer than mine, so you might need a different number. One thing to bear in mind, make sure your battery voltage is good whilst you are messing about. Keep checking the front passenger keyless is working. It will stop if voltage stops slightly, and if it does, then both rear doors won't work either

I'll check out the site and thank you for the advice. 👌

Very good! It works! Thank you very much. 👌

5 or 6 worked? There are 4 different features coded in this position since it codes 4 bits. Two bits are responsible for keyless entry in rear doors. Other are for something else. One bit is for left and one for right handle. So, it might be, that 5 will work only for one door. Or 6 will work only for one door.

I have 2018 Focus, with rear door keyless factory mounted. My value is 6! So, it looks like bit 1 and bit 2 are important (0110). That's why I'm curios how 5 (0101) works?
