How to reset the BMS method 2                                                                         Search Tag: BMS2

CAUTION: The reference at the beginning of the video saying that the BMS should be reset after charging the battery in incorrect.

The Battery Monitoring System (BMS) should only be reset if a new battery has been fitted.

Update: one of the front parking sensors was broken which caused a chain reaction of issues. Essentially once one sensor goes it completely knocks off the park pilot.

Quick question - is your Ford an automatic or manual transmission?

If an automatic the Parking Aid error could have pointed to a transmission problem. Just look up Ford Powershift and that will provide food for thought.
However a faulty sensor can cause your problem and not an expensive part.

A replacement Transmission Control Module or clutch & seals replacement- a very different story.

Please your problem was resolved 👍

Park Aid and transmission have nothing in common

That is what I thought last week - then ‘Parking Aid malfunction - service required’ appeared on the information screen of my 2014 Focus alongside car not starting (cranking).

Apparently the error message originates from the automatic transmission being unable to select gear when attempting to start the car.

Ford dealership diagnosed a TCM replacement- fortunately not a clutch pack & seal replacement.
