Mk1 1998 Galaxy 2.3 DOHC PARTS - LOOM

Featured Replies

Hey all, my brother and I are trying to keep our passed dads car on the road as long as possible, we can get most parts quite easily, but we’ve hit a stumbling block with the engine wiring loom. The original has started to beak down causing shorts everywhere, we’ve taped it best we can and cars running ok, but not a long term solution. I know it’s a long shot, but trying to find a part number or a replacement part or even just the connectors so we can make our own loom. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be amazing, otherwise we going to have to find one for spare/repair or a scrapper lol

Hi,

Looms are very difficult to confirm on the parts catalogues as there are so many options.  I would recommend following your loom as far as you can in the hope finding the part number on it.  Would initially have been on a white sticker wrapped around the loom, usually the end nearest the ECU.

If you can't find the part number, I would see how much a professional company would charge to make an exact copy of your original loom.  Doubt it'll be cheap but they'll be able to source all of the plugs and you'll know it's all safe for the next 20 odd years.
