Anyone had a call from 012689 66072 - "on behalf of Ford"

Featured Replies

Just found an answer phone message from.this number. Male voice, purported to be ringing on behalf of Ford, "to update me on their new models".

Had a look at online number checking sites and this call seems to have started 2 months ago and been searched hundreds of times. Those leaving a comment have all mentioned a Ford connection, though some very unlikely messages, e.g. massive discount on a Mustang, home test drives on their "large range of newly introduced models", and big discount on cars delivered directly to your door.

Sounds like it might be a data gathering scam to me.

Scam.

Yes, thats the checker I've normally used. Looks like the same comedians, though they've switched to a slightly different number, as they often do.

Found another call from this number on the answerphone this morning. The company (Numbers Plus Ltd) does seem to exist and is involved in various telemarketing activities, including providing "virtual"numbers, it appears.

So could be marketing activity on behalf of Ford. Given they've removed the new car franchise from loads of dealers, who is going to promote their products otherwise?😀

I had to block my local Ford dealers number after they kept calling.  Made it clear that I never give my number out, but was forced to for the credit check (I think), and was told it would never be used for marketing.  Complete BS as usual from salesman...

Looks like the Ford dealership, or Ford generally, are still using my postal address as well!

Has anyone else got the 'Ford Electric' leaflet through the post?

Nope. Not had a call since my last post on this (September 11), either so looks as if that one's given up for now.

Only other contact I've had from Ford of late is by email from Ford Money telling me their savings interest rates are going down! Still quite competitive for instant access savings, though.

I used to hear from my local dealer fairly regularly, but since they've been dumped from new car sales they've got nothing to tell me, I suppose. I keep expecting to hear that they've either signed up with a Far Eastern franchise,  are going fully independent, or are packing in altogether!

Interestingly the village garage, who service my wife's car, have just acquired the adjoining premises which will almost double their capacity, so there's obviously a market for all makes servicing.

Sons header tank split on his Fiesta so went to ford to order one, the guy at the desk asked me
for my phone number/email number and address, I asked him why do you want these details,
he replied 'to contact you if there is a problem and when the part comes in'.....They told me it
will take three days to get the part, It was the fourth day and still no call or email to notify me
the part was here to pick up, so just went to the dealership, different bloke at the desk this time
I asked when did the part come in, he told me the very next day, me then asking why didn't you
contact me to tell me you'd got the part in, he said they had called me & emailed me...Utter lies.

I've had junk texts from Ford and junk emails from Ford, so many I had to block both.

I spoke too soon! Just back from a few days away and found several more messages on the answerphone, all exactly the same voice and spiel so obviously automated.
