P010F mass airflow sensor A/B correlation !!

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 Galaxy that’s done 236,000 miles and for the last year has been getting worse to the point where it is undrivable.

Keep doing a diagnostic on it and it comes up with the above and a fault on the EGR ( outside learning ) , fitted new both items , still the same, BUT !!!
I found out on- line ( finally ) what A/B correlation means, it’s the difference to the airflow reading from the air filter  and the air flow to in inlet manifold, they should be the same  but if not the car goes into limp mode and switches the turbo off, so I had a leak !!
Now pulled ALL the pipe work and the intercooler off the car to inspect, found no leak ?? BUT when looking at the plastic pipe from the intercooler rad and the inlet manifold, I twisted it and the seam opened up, RESULT, taped the pipe to try, now have a ‘flying machine’

So PLEASE if you have a similar fault coming up, firstly check the plastic pipe mentioned ,after 19 years the pipe gets brittle ( mine split  the near the bottom ), the replacement pipe is rubber, now further problems and once again I have a car that is a dream to drive.

i hope this helps someone with a similar fault, it only look me nearly a year to find a rectify !

Just like people, cars and engines don't last forever. It seems that you have been very fortunate to have found the fault and given your car a little more life but in reality problems and faults are likely to become more and more frequent. Will it make it past a quarter of a million miles ? 🤔
