Front Windscreen Washers Not Working

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I'm a new poster.

Front windscreen washers of my Ford Smax 2013 isn't working when the rear one is fine.

I have tried with a pin to see if nozzles are clogged but no luck.

Any ideas what could have gone wrong ?

Is there a single or double pump in these models ? Since the rear working fine I would like to clarify first the number of pumps and whether it's working.

Thanks

Usually a single pump on Fords but I haven't looked at an Smax. Can you hear the pump running when you operate the switch for the front washers?

It is a single pump just changed mine cause bk not working but still not working

Hang on, I've given a lot of ideas on this old post!:

But I agree, reincarnation generally not a good idea.

If the pump is working for both front and rear but there's no flow to the front then either the jets or the pipe may be blocked or there may be a blocked non-return valve (if one is actually fitted?
AFAIK, screenwash contains a biocide which prevents build up of "slime" if you don't (or even if you do) use this, it may cause blockage - that would be my best guess based on your stated symptoms (If the motor isn't working then it's back to checking electrical and the BCM for the dreaded "corrosion due to water soaking back from... windscreen washer pump!)
Can you disconnect the front pipe and pressurise it to blow back any blockage and allow it to come through by disconnecting jets to make a larger path (jets may also be blocked?)
Don't damage the NR valve if one actually exists (or burst a fitting that will be difficult to get to)?
