Hey!

Looking for a Focus ST Line X in Desert Island Blue that also has a HUD as I feel like its a neat piece of technology but i cant find one! I want to know if its worth waiting and hoping to get a used Focus with that config.

Does your mk4.5 come with a HUD and if so, what is your opinion on it?

Feel free to share any pros and cons and id love pictures as well!

I had a pre-facelift with HUD.  Didn't want it, came as standard with the Vignale Edition trim.  I didn't like it at all.  But you really can't go just by my opinion on anything sensory.

I can (vaguely) see the point with a pre-facelift where you bring up the digital speed readout in the "My View" screen and you may want to see some other info there instead. I struggle to see the point in the later cars with digital dash and a large clear digital speed read out in the instrument display independent of trip data, etc.

 

I've never had a HUD and I guess that I wouldn't be able to customise it to suit my requirements. As I am very tall I always struggle to see the top of any instrument cluster because the overhang on the dashboard and the top of the steering wheel get in the way. I would want to have the green indicator arrows on the HUD as they always put them at the top of the cluster where I can't see them.

I am also taller than average, 191 cm, and i do remember test driving 2018 Focus back when they came out with a HUD and nnot seeing anything on it but i didn't know if i could somehow change it?

You can adjust the angle of the HUD on Mk4 (at least on pre-facelift).

But can I add anything I like to it? In particular can I add the arrows to it that show when I have a turn indicator active?

Maybe not anything you like.  But you can choose from a list of options.
