Door open

Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2010 s-max 2.0 tdci and have msg on cluster that door open and boot open it definitely is not I've changed wiring loom to door no change.

Can I bridge a connection so the car thinks door and boot is closed as the alarm is going off for no reason  also no sound from alarm just flashing indicators. any help much appreciated

It'll be the sensors in the latches

Would that involve changing the latches or the micro switch inside them

It's nearly impossible to replace the microswitch, it is so far inside of the latch and parts of the assembly were never intended to be taken apart.

You can pick up replacement latch assemblies quite cheap from a scrap yard, just make sure you get the exact same part number.

Trying to link out the microswitch will confuse the central locking and can result in the door being locked and it not being possible to open the door without breaking the latch.

That's very likely a separate issue. Have you tested the horn for the alarm (not the vehicle horn) to see if it still works ?

Yes the horn of the car still works and a bit off topic but the fan for a/c is not working or climate control
