Ford Focus Can Bus

Featured Replies

Hi.

Would anyone have a wiring diagram for the Can Bus system on a 2007 Ford Focus please?

Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure if a specific canbus diagram exists, have you looked at the generic wiring schematics? as they show all of the module wiring, which ones are communicating via canbus and what pins/connectors are in use

The best I can offer are the pdf files below. Not easy to follow.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have downloaded the ones from you Unofix.

It is for my friends car who sent me a screenshot of a U0001 DTC.

She said that at times the car is quite undrivable but at other times it's ok.

That is not something to be overly concerned about. What are you using to read the DTC's ?

The problem is very likely to be the infamous solder joints on the IPC.

A refurbishment of the instrument cluster should sort the communication error on the canbus.

@rd457 will be able to help refurbish the IPC

Update. Another mechanic took a look before me and took the dash console out and found a couple of broken connections. Not sure if it's fixed as my friend has lost all confidence in it.

Thanks again for the replies though.

It will be fine once the cluster is fixed (by someone who knows what they're doing)

An all too frequent problem.

Using a mechanic, even an excellent one to do electrical repairs is like using a plumber to fix the electrical sockets in your house.

It's 'horses for courses' get an electronics engineer to refurbish the instrument cluster.
