Relocating BCM in rear 1/4, will it cause probs?

Featured Replies

In the OS rr qtr just rearward of the wheel arch and behind the removeable plastic panel, is a Continental part (see image below) labelled DCUGA (amongst other things printed on there). I want to relocate it to allow a sub build in the rr qtr area.

Before I do I thought I’d best check it isn’t calibrated to a specific mounting angle or has any form of level sensor inside? Just moving it into whatever position/angle ought to be fine and it won’t be upset by vibrations from a sub?

Keyless entry module.

Be careful cutting all those wires, if you don't re-join them perfectly you'll get non start and false alarm issues

I'd find somewhere else to stick the subwoofer

Ooh. My car doesn’t have keyless entry, unless it isn’t working. Is that something I can enable in Forscan?

Don't you have a remote?

Yes. I thought keyless entry was when you didn’t have to press buttons on the fob, and it auto unlocked when you were within range etc., didn’t realise it was as simple as using a remote instead of a key.

And if your car has a keyless start button instead of a conventional ignition switch, this KVM (Keyless Vehicle Module) is also the part that controls the PATS immobilizer system.

So be careful with this module since there may be a risk of the car becoming immobilized.
