2012 S-max 2.2 not starting after cutting out on motorway

Featured Replies

Hi everyone after some help, I'll start from where everything stater going wrong with my 2012 s-max 2.2

First of all I got an error saying the dpf was blocked so I got so dpf cleaner removed the dpf poured in left over night an jet washed out the following day put it back on an used the car in the hopes it would clear after a few days stated going in an out of limp mode stupidly I carried on using it as I had no other way of getting to work.

About a week later she cut out an died on the motorway got towed home had a mate that had a good diagnostic machine plug into it pinged ou a load of faults all pointing to the intank pump (dpf still showing blocked) anyway so I replaced the intank pump bled fuel through the lines to make sure not blocked but still won't start.

I can get the car stated on easy start but dies after a few min but the car has no fuel flowing. No fuel at the rail its bone dry no fuel getting to high pressure pump an no fuel going to filter. So something is stopping the car pumping fuel up from the tank to the filter an so on. I have primed fuel up to the filter an from the filter to the high pressure pump bit still won't start.

Anyone have any ideas what might be stopping the car from sending fuel up from the tank to start the car.

Thanks in advance

Welcome!

As you haven't had a reply, I'll start...
As the in tank pump doesn't appear to be working, that needs to be sorted - is it actually able to run, is there a supply to it, when does it switch on (I don't know as we don't have one)?
If yo wire a direct (fused) supply to it, does that make a difference?
Is there a blockage somewhere?
Then I'd use Forscan to test demanded and actual rail pressures - if they don't match, there's a problem.
Beyond that then it's working to find out what is stopping fuel being delivered (that's what it looks like?)
When was fuel filter changed, any signs of "glitter"?
DPF is a separate issue which also needs tackling. Your cleaning may well have worked but it's usually a victim of something else (that could be causing the starting issue... or not.
