ford focus CB4 loss of power

Featured Replies

dear members,

i m reaching out...seeking for advices on the following..its about my focus mk2 1.6 TD 2008-2011  which i have recently replaced the 4 burnt glow plugs  and ever since it feels like the power is reduced. I no longer feel the turbo being engaged and the acceleration feels slower?

For the context, while my card was at the garage i was driving a 20TD and that is definitely faster than my focus..

In any way, took it back to the garage, run the diagnostics, saw some MAF related errors, the mechanic remoted and cleaned the MAF sensor. re-run the diagnostics and no error afterwards.

BUT, still..i do feel that the power has been reduced but then again if there are no errors reported on the diagnostics it might be just my false impression ?

all in all, is there a way to validate/test that the turbocharger is in a functional/healthy  state?

thanks

Check the MAP sensor readings.  Should be 20-30psi under load (accelerating up hill).

Hello all,

For completeness, the problem is fixed. root cause: a cracked tube feeding the turbocharger.

Thanks to all
