Weather Seals

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

New to this forum. I drive a 2004 Fusion 2, 1.4 petrol, manual. Runs great, always has, and never really had any major problems with her.

Now coming up on 120K and the only real problem she has are the door weather seals (on door and on body). Has anyone ever replaced theirs? Is it fairly easy? Did you use the overly priced Genuine Ford rubbers, or the cheap and cheerful generic stuff available from places like Ebay and Amazon?

Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Ross

Hi Ross

These seals always dry up become deformed which does seal against the elements.

A good indication is outside road noise becoming more apparent whist driving.

Which way you go in replacement is how much do you want to spend, if the original one's have lasted this long, then another set should last in equal time.

Keeping the car inside dry is very important, moisture inside the cabin will cause more problems, don't forget fords were built on a budget, so less insulation & more condensation.
