Hi all, I'm experiencing some issues with the above codes...

Car in question is a Ford S Max 2.0 Ecoboost 203bhp TNWA, 2010 plate

Check engine light popped 2 days ago but disappeared and so i've done a scan with Forscan to get the above codes... Fuel rail pressure shows on idle 3540kpa and that's about all I can check with Forscan for i don't have an option to do any checks on injectors...

Anyone has any idea before I start to dismantle everything?

Thanks 🤗

Implies fuel pump B, that there are 2 so is there an in-tank pump and is that proven to run reliably  and is the B pump at the engine?
Assume this is petrol and the pressure you quote equivalent to abut 500 PSI  at idle seems high to me (but I'm diesel so can someone else confirm?)
BUT, what are the actual symptoms, intermittent or constant, maintenance and other history please?

Well, it is petrol. I don't feel anything, car starts and drives as it should for the time being... the only thing I'd say though is it takes A LOT OF FUEL... I mean, i struggle to do 200 miles per tank... city only, school runs daily, shops and that's it's daily use but still i find the fuel consumption extreme...

EcoBoost is direct injection petrol.  They need to run much higher pressure than old IDI petrols did.

The quoted pressure sounds fine to me though, which seems odd given the fault code.

A previous thread suggested that fuel pump B is actually the tank pump.  I don't want to advise any further without confirming that one way or the other.

Hi, from what I read around it looks like pump 2 is the in tank one indeed... there was a guy with a 1.6 ecoboost wich had the same code and in his case scenario has had a combination of fuel contamination wich led dirt to the failure of the pump and at the same time has had about 2 or 3 injectors leaking... once he dropped the tank and cleaned it and changed the pump along with all Injectors his problem was sorted...

The only difference is in my case my car drives just fine, boosts well while his was having check engine light on at all times throwing the car into limp mode... mine doesn't misfire, doesn't have the check engine light on anymore, no limp mode aswell...

I'm fine changing the injectors they only 100 quid brand new from Bosch but dropping the tank and testing the pump would be a challenge and kind of hope someone will come with a magical answer before I go this route 😞

Clear the Code and see if it comes back.

Did that, comes back... first was only p2636 and after i cleared it came back as p2636/62:64...
