Stiff gear shift (2006 fusion manual 1.4)

Featured Replies

Hello chaps, I've got a fusion 2006 petrol 1.4 manual. I'm hoping you can help my find the gear shift linkage (bushing) ? I believe I need to grease it up but I can't find it :-)

Hi bob, the problem you have is a seizing or dry bush, I believe there are two within the gearbox housing.

It's a common fault, it's a case of drilling the bush an extra 1mm internally.

If you look on YouTube, you can see how to do it, approx time 1 hour to fix, you need the correct size drill bit first.

The other option is to change the cable's, I'd prefer the first option.
