2018 S-Max 2.0 TDCi - noisy middle seat

Featured Replies

I've got an issue with a noisy middle seat on a 2018 Ford S-Max 2.0 TDCi.

It's a sort of rubbing/squeaking noise coming from the seat behind the driver. It doesn't happen if someone is sitting in it, only when it's empty. I've tracked it down to the metal springs (?) underneath the seat rubbing against the foam. My plan is to put something in between, like a piece of felt, but it's a pain to access.

Before I go ahead, I just thought I'd check in case anyone else has encountered this and if there are any known solutions? Also, does anyone know how to remove the seat base (or even the cover) as this would be easier than poking felt in from below.

Thanks.

Never had any issues.
What about  a spray of silicone, just to confirm and if that doesn't fix it long term then the felt addition?
Is it not just easier to remove the seat and tip it upside down (check there are no electrical connectors or anything else)?

I barely trust myself to add the felt correctly, let alone take the entire seat out! 🙂

I might try the silicone though...

If your wallet isnt like mine "extremely light", you can keep it on the middle seat to weigh it down 😂

unless someone says "serious answers only" i just cant help myself.
