Oil Leak - only after 10 Minutes when the engine is Hot

Featured Replies

Guys, I have an Oil leak that's a nightmare to find. Mk7 Transit,  Leak only starts after about 10/15 minutes when its piping hot.  Its somewhere near the alternator at the side of the block half way down ish.

Its somewhere behind the Alternator,  under the cooling pipework.  Bizarrely when the Oil leak starts,  I also get a water leak,  both are a good flow of fluid (not insignificant)

All guidance greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the head is warping in the heat and allowing the headgasket to leak from both coolant and oil ways close to the edge of the block.

Only other part with both oil and coolant in would be the oil cooler, but that's too big to fit behind the alternator.

There are a few different engines used on these, can you tell us which size and power level this one is?
