P02EC error code after driving in heavy rain.

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this, my 2019 ecoblue 2.0 s-max gets this about twice a year, I have stopped taking it to the garage and just clear the error myself now. I have given up with my ford garage. I am wondering if there is a something I can ask my local garage to replace.

Thanks Alexis.

Welcome!
As I am no expert on this I'll post:
https://www.engine-codes.com/p02ec.html
So you could start looking there (other sites are available)
Codes will give the right area to be in but do not tell you which part to replace without additional testing and thought as there can be multiple reasons including dirt, wiring issues etc etc.
On here we highly rate Forscan to read codes, monitor, investigate and record live data to permit proper diagnosis, not just unguided, expensive part changing.
If garages say they "think" or want to change parts without any supporting evidence, and diagnostic result (i.e. proof) ask if they will refund your money if it doesn't fix the issue!
If it's twice year, what happens before it starts (it may be an idea to wait until it becomes a hard fault and doesn't go away - but I don't like that idea much)
Of course, if a Magician knows exactly the root cause of your issue then ignore my ramblings!
