3 weeks in an airport car park now got two issues.

Featured Replies

After collecting my car after 3 weeks using a meet and greet service at Gatwick airport, I set off back home and quickly noticed the brakes juddered when applied at moderate speed and above, and the airbag warning light has come on.

I'm assuming employees at this company have not done anything to my car that has caused this, so I'm wondering if leaving the car standing for 3 weeks could have caused this instead?

I've never had these issues before I dropped off my car to them.

I think my brakes have got better but need to take my car on dual carriageway first to properly test them.

Can anyone give me an insight to what might have happened and how to rectify the issues?

Thanks very much and hope you can help.

Often the airbag warning is caused by loose plugs under the driver's seat. Chances are the other driver(s) had to move the seat back or forward to suit them.

Brake discs go rusty and the caliper sliders get stiff when the car isn't used. They should just free up with a bit of use

Has the mileage been checked? - I wouldn't want anyone driving my car to park it as you never know what they are up to!!!
However the chances of getting any recompense if they have caused any damage are likely ...nil!

Thanks @TomsFocus for being so positive!

One and only time I used airport parking, came back and found the car encrusted with bird cr*p - they must have parked it in an aviary. Never again!

That sounds about right...hopefully!

I'll check the wires, I remember the seat being moved back.

Thanks very much.
