Almost No Clutch bite

Featured Replies

I own a Ford Fiesta Zetec 09 model (Manual/Petrol) and it feels as though the clutch has no bite to it. To get it going in first I have to use clutch and accelerator to get even a crawl out of it.

Any ideas of what I could do to improve my clutch situation?

Hi, I am no expert in general but I remember back around 2000 I had a ford, forgot which, but being ford is not relevant and had the same issue as you and it was the clutch which wanted replacing. It got worse and worse.

Took it to a garage and sorted it right out. No idea how much it cost but probably not very relevant being so long ago anyway, but the issue sounds the same.

I think in general terms it is just that the clutch has 'gone'. No idea what 'gone' means but the mechanics making it not gone fixed it!

As a clutch wears, the "biting point" gets higher and higher, until it reaches the point where you now seem to.be.

Time to replace it.
