Coil spring replacement.

Featured Replies

I had a bit of a scraping noise going off on the n/s rear. Inspected the brakes and apart from a tight caliper, I couldn’t see anything amis.

While I was down there I noticed the coil spring had broken in the bottom of the well.

I replaced the coil spring on the other side a few years ago and had to reseat it a couple of times due to a bit a creaking while driving.

I think the main reason for that was due to the replacement part having no ‘rubber’ sheathing on the coil.

The replacement coil that I’ve ordered also has no sheathing.

Does anyone have any advice on how to improvise with some form of friction reducing/noise dampening technique before I fit the coil.

Thanks in advance.
