Focus mk2.5 1.6tdci fuel filter bleeding

Featured Replies

Hello, I own a focus 2008 1.6tdci 80kw. I removed the fuel filter in order to clean the egr and it started and ran for 5 seconds and then shut down. I cranked it a couple of times but it wont start. I read on this forum that i need to use a fuel priming pump but I don’t have such pump. Please help

Nothing we can do to help. You just need to buy a priming pump. Or call a mobile mechanic who has a pump.

A known workaround is to top up the filter housing with diesel before starting the engine, start the engine and run it at 2000 RPM for a few minutes.

However since the engine has been started and killed itself due to air in the fuel system it is already too late for that workaround.

@JW1982 Thanks for the reply! I suppose it is not possible because there is air between the filter and the injectors? Is it possible that i insert fuel with a syringe into the hose coming from the fuel filter?
