My S Max 2011 is in need of an update for the sat nav but I am having trouble finding the correct updates for this. On several occasions it says that the VIN code is not recognized. It is possible that the car was imported in it's youth but not sure. Any advice would be welcomed and appreciated.

    First, it is important to know which satnav system the car has and which map version is currently being used.


    For a 2011 S-max this can be one of the following systems:

    - Bosch/Blaupunt Travelpilot FX.
    - Bosch/Blaupunt Travelpilot NX.
    - Bosch/Blaupunt Travelpilot MCA.

    The Travelpilot FX and MCA use an SD-Card with the maps.
    The Travelpilot NX use a DVD with the maps.

    - Map updates for the FX system were discontinued after 2021 (maps are dated 2020).
    - Map updates for the NX and MCA systems (which are technically closely related) were discontinued after 2022 (maps are dated 2021).

    So, the most recent map material will be at least 5 Years old.

    The only marks on the sat nav are OEM18K932. I would assume that this system is beyond help. Many thanks for your time and kindly assistance.
