Ford focus estate 75 plate

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope you could offer some advice as sick of getting fobbed off by Ford.

I'm having chew with the wife's 75 plate focus estate(petrol. Started few months back dropping power on motorways, around town. Can't pinpoint when it happens. Mrs took it back to Ford. They allegedly sorted it. Then few months later sounded like bag of hammers. Back again. Complete engine rebuild. Was ok for a month or so they started to go in limp mode. Been to pick it up today and the fitter said it's the fuel. I asked why hasn't my 65 plate Focus been effected, step daughter's fiesta 57 plate. He said it might be. The fuel now is crap. I asked if other fords are effected and he said nothing.

Any help would be appreciated. Told the wife to try the the next fuel up or try the shell performance for a bit.

He's pulling your ******.

Typical Ford "technician"

Get in contact with Ford CRC and reject the car, they obviously didn't sort the issue that made the first engine go bang

Nothing to do with fuel whatsoever, make sure you report everything they have said to you

Thanks for replying. I thought he was. I'll tell the Mrs when she gets in.

I agree reject the car, or at least have a brand new engine.

The fuel isn't crap, he's talking crap. Don't trust them an inch, document everything even minutes of discussion, and then hit them with that and your rights. Take no BS and don't let them string you out beyond your warranty times. Get in your fully documented claim before that. If you do that, they may well be too lazy to challenge.

Personally, with a car that new, I would refuse it, and refuse an engine replacement as I would have no confidence in the car, nor in their replacing the engine, a la Frankenstein. With a replacement engine it will always be documented in the cars history and count against it in resale. I would demand a full refund (check your rights first, if need be with CAB). If Ford have anything about them, seeing as you have 2 other Fords in your family, they will replace with a car which is one-up from yours in trim or engine at your choice. Get to know your rights and take no nonsense.
