Rear wiper blade for 2005 Hatchback?

Featured Replies

Records say my Focus 1.6 Ghia was manufactured in January 2005 and registered in July 2005.

I used a number plate search to get a rear wiper blade which got me a Bosch 382. This doesn't fit - it has a metal clip fixing which is completely different to the one on the arm.

WiperBlades.co.uk decoded my number plate as a 2006 - 2008 (?) and recommended a Bosch 351. This doesn't fit either! It looks more promising in that it just has a simple bar that would fit into the arm. However, it is too wide to fit into the arm! (Not the blade width, the actual bit that should snap in to the arm).

Any ideas please, this is getting annoying!

Just buy one from a Ford dealer. Rear blades are more variable than fronts in my experience.

Might be this one but I would recommend sending them your reg to confirm.

Thanks @TomsFocus but go to a dealer! Do they sell things like that? (You can tell I have never set foot in a main dealer in all of my 64 years!).

I assume it will be a stealership price! I'll keep it as a last resort!

Thanks for the ebay link, I'll check it out.

Yes, of course they sell consumable parts.

The eBay link is to a Ford dealer. Cost around £10.

I think Ford changed the rear wiper design pretty early in the life of the mk2 Focus - really early ones got a plain/exposed rear wiper and arm before going to a more aero arm and matching blade. That could be where the confusion in part numbers is coming from if yours is the early one

Thanks. That may be where the confusion is coming from then. I've ordered the blade suggested by @TomsFocus above. If that doesn't fit I'll post pictures of the arm and see what we think.

UPDATE: Ford blade 2 120 175 GM5J-A17402-CA Fits (sort of!). I am pretty sure it is the correct blade but I have to hold it in place with a cable tie as it falls off if I lift the wiper arm. (To be honest I could probably get away without the cable tie as the arm doesn't need lifting).

I suspect that is an issue with the arm rather than the blade.

Thanks to all for the help.
