Wet belt change without oil pump belt?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Looking for some advice on this please..

recently had my 2018 transit custom wet belt done by my local garage, all well but turns out they didn't do oil pump belt. Seems to me it would have been easy to do there and then but apparently sump didn't come off as the belt was in decent condition and their policy is to just change that one. Whats done is done but I have a question on the oil pump belt. Is it possible to change just with the sump off or do you have to remove timing cover also? I'm assuming it's the later with the access.

Do these oil pump belts also have a habit of going also? I know the transporters have the same rubber belt on their pumps. My van is near 80k now.

Thanks
