Hello all, i am trying to rebuilt a 2024 custom involved in a crash where the abs module located- i have put the wiring together for now before i replace and am happy wires are all good and continuous.

Van was showing non communication to steering and and the left rear sensor fault after lots of troubleshooting the obvious i have decided the module is bad so bought a replacement with same part number.

Problem is i cannot get the van to accept it i have forscan extended i have loaded built data and verified vin reset and rebooted various things but the vehicle will only start with the old module plugged back in.

On most of the late Ford models the ABS module is part of the PATS immobilizer system. Forscan is not able to synchronize a replacement ABS module to the BCM/PCM.

This is why the vehicle starts with the original ABS module but fails to start once the module is replaced.

The PATS system needs to be reprogrammed by someone who has a Sermi accreditation and a paid license for the online based Ford FDRS diagnostic system including PATS programming. Apart from Ford dealerships, very few 3rd party specialists have this type of accreditation/access. Finding a Ford dealership that is willing to program a replacement module they did not supply can be another challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to explain that makes perfect sense. Think since its not a simple replacement of original module to test if its at fault i will try more troubleshooting of original module first before i try to find FRDS just to make sure.

if anyone has a wiring diagram or pinouts for a 24 custom diesel specifically the abs module wiring that would be amazing
