Ford grand CMax Auto 2015 2L Diesel - ELECTRICAL HELP NEEDED

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a grand CMax 2015 titanium X 2L Diesel Auto, I am good mechanically however I have came across an electrical gremlin that I can't get my head around

So to start, I have replaced the gearbox dampener and clutch pack in this car, that's why I brought it in the first place as the dampener had blown. All that is fine

I found an issue where whenever I pressed the brake pedal, the live data for ABS module would go offline, if holding brake down while searching for modules the ABS wouldn't even be found. I done the usual wire traces and the brake circuit is fine! This only happens when engine is running fyi

Replaced ABS module but no change

I noticed that it stopped doing it when I unplug the steering column connector on the back, clock spring etc is all ok and wiring in steering wheel is fine

There is a code also intermittent for private communication network fault which I believe is the linbus

Have traced all the wires to look for a short or break from the steering column connector however they are all fine

Checked voltages and it seems the linbus wire in the steering column connector when unplugged sits around 8/9v but I believe this should be pulled up from the BCM to 12V unless I'm wrong?

The only thing I can now suspect is the BCM, HOWEVER this is proving difficult to replace, my part number is DV6T-14A073-HJ but the sticker on back also has it as a trim B / DEB I HAVE ATTACHED THIS IMAGE. when I tried to programme another HJ unit it wouldn't work and it seems this is because the sticker on back was Trim A and HGB which would be set up for. Bladed key and not keyless entry. I believe the circuit boards are set up differently?

Any help appreciated
