Individual Leather

Featured Replies

Morning All,

I am in the process of placing an order for a new Titanium with full dress up kit, keyless entry and parking sensors.

But I am tempted to get the individual leather aswell - it looks good in the pictures but I would have to see it up close - does anyone own or know anyone who owns a Titanium with the individual leather around the Northampton area that I could go and have a look at? As all the ford dealers around here don't seem to have any of the fiesta's lying around with that option for me to have a look at..

I would prefer the blue individual to the red but as you can only get that on the ZS that is out of the question..

Feel free to comment on whether or not you think its a good idea to get.

Thanks

Hey,

To be honest I'm not that much of a fan of the Individual pack - a guy at work has got an identical car to me, except that his is a ZS and has the Individual pack and mine is a Titanium with X pack.

The Tit X pack is now £800 list and that's for the 17" 'spanner' alloys (which in my opinion make the car) and dark leather seats with white stitching that look really good - although in fairness it isn't the highest quality leather as you'd probably expect.

The individual pack is £875 for the seats and a bit of interior trim and although in fairness it does look a lot different from the majority of mk7s, is it really worth it for something that really isn't individual at all? Just a stock option. Oh, and they stamp 'Individual' on the seats which I think looks godawful.

Andrew.

Yeah that's what I thought to be honest, I didn't think the standard leather was amazing quality from what people have said about it creasing up when the seats are folded and being loose against the seats - correct me if I'm wrong.

The only reason why I put it was because I wanted something different in the car other than the black/grey interior that comes standard, and the only other option is to get the 'Soho' seats and dash which wouldn't go with Vision Blue I was thinking of having - before even contemplating the individual leather as the colour would then have to be Frozen White or Panther Black

If only if was possible to get the blue dash and the blue cloth seats in the Titanium that would be a different story, as I am going to get the car in Vision, at first it was going to be the white but they seem to be absolutely everywhere now!

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions..

I got my car in November 2009 and it's done about 17,000 miles since then. I've treated the seats with leather cleaner once in their life- terrible I know but it's boring as hell.

The seats still look pretty good although the sag in the centre of the drivers seat is perhaps a bit worrying, maybe the individual ones would stand up a little bit better.

Here's some photos I took a minute ago for you to judge...

John (salesman) at Allen Ford Hopping Hill Northampton had a vision blue ZS with individual blue pack in July when I bought my car from him, did you try them?

  • Author

cheers andrew, the seats look good, suppose you do have to expect the leather to start to sag after a while after constant use..

And Nathan I was actually up at Hopping Hill Ford yesterday (I used to work there) and when I was chatting to John about it he didn't even mention that he had the individual pack on his ZS - though he did say that he only had it for like 6 months and got rid of it, when I was working there though I never saw a fiesta with the individual leather on it so it must be quite a rare occurrence for people to choose it as an option..

Would you guys recommend the normal leather? Presume it gets pretty scorching in the summer though..

I know it is going off topic but what were your reasons for going for the ZS?

im guessing that your full name is james brown and you used to work in parts at hopping hill, only reason i say i because i work there, if you want to come look at mine at some point, i have the black zetec s leather pack, (black leather with red stitching) if you want to come look at it just PM me

  • Author

Yep that's me..think I've seen you up there before when I've popped in..

Yeah that would be cool..so many people have said to me leather is horrible it's too cold in winter and too hot in summer..but I don't want the standard cloth you get tbh..

im on holiday at the moment but if you can wait till thursday ill be back in, i took over from phil in the bodyshop so just pop in when you want to

  • Author

Yeah that's cool..I'll let you know..yeah hopefully you've managed to sort that all out..was a right mess when I worked there..Derek tried to get me to do your old job at the Kettering depot lol..

lmao, the new guy is a joke, and my god its better in the bodyshop now, will have to have a chat next week

  • Author

Yeah ok..

Ok straying a bit off topic..I do like the individual style but it's just a shame you can't get the blue style on the titanium..I think they should offer both colours on both models..

cheers andrew, the seats look good, suppose you do have to expect the leather to start to sag after a while after constant use..

I have the normal leather in my Titanium + X pack. Having done 12000 miles, the leather is starting to stretch a bit on the drivers seat. I've cleaned and treated it once so far with Gliptone which helps to keep it supple (and smells lovely). Which reminds me it's about time I did it again - it should really be done every six months, but it's about a year since I last did it.

The leather isn't up to Aston Martin standards, but it's good enough. Of course it's a personal thing, but I haven't had any problems during winter or summer with the seat temperature (I try to park out of the sun in summer and have privacy glass which probably helps). The leather is just a cover, the underlying seat is exactly the same whether you have normal fabric or the Individual pack. I'd expect the Individual covers to suffer the same sagging as the normal leather. My main bugbear is that you don't get leather on the arm rests with the standard leather (they're just the regular fabric), but I think you do with the Individual pack - but then I really don't like the silver/red colour scheme.

yeah I dont think you can expect the leather on the fiesta to be amazing quality..

i think the blue individual is better than the red, like i said its just a shame that you cant have the blue on the Titanium or the red on the Zetec S - can't see why it would make a difference tbh..

Opinion on leather?

Had leather in all my past Volvos, Merc and Audi. Quality of leather in Volvos was the best and if treated (I used a leather softener twice a year - before and after the cold winter months) the seats were amazing - they always looked as good as new, hardly any sign of creasing.

Heated seats is a must IMO. Never had an issue with leather being too hot in summer but damn cold in the winter.

Ford Leather? Saw the std grey leather fitted in a Zetec S in showroom. Apologies to all who have this option but in my opinion the quality of the leather is !Removed! awful. I'll back this up by saying I saw the same leather option in a car which was only a few months old and had covered 2000 miles yet the leather looked well used and abused. I've drove over 40k in my V70 and the leather was in far better condition than that Ford. I honestly wouldn't chose Ford leather if it was a no cost option.

Individual leather? Someone may answer this but is it the same quality as the std leather? Sat in a White titanium at Machargs Ford, Glasgow. The leather felt thicker / more robust somehow - not sure if that's right or was the colour playing tricks on me? Anyway, if the car had just that wine coloured leather it'd be ok, but it didn't - it was multi-coloured - cream colour leather panels on the seats as well. (multi-coloured steering wheel? Can't remember). Anyway the whole effect was just awful in my opinion, but I guess someone must like it. Haven't seen the blue leather but if that has cream panels thru it as well... it's all a bit OTT for my taste.

  • Author

I'm not sure if the individual leather is better quality or not tbh..I would have thought so at £875 but with Fords you can never tell..

Need to look into it a bit more as wont be placing my order till at least June time..and I may be lucky enough to get one of the first 61 plates when they come out Sept 1st.

Thanks for your comments Sparticus5

I really wanted the red interior but didn't really want to stretch my budget to it. Having seen a few in the flesh (peaking through other owners windows) I have to say I am not sure I really like them, the red doesn't look too bad but the blue was a really odd colour. However with the leather they probably look pretty decent. My dad used to have leather seats in his old nissan, as long as you have seat warmers for the winter you will be ok. It did get a bit hot in the summer (i always remember my legs sticking to the seats) but they were well worth it. As for the quality, I can't imagine any leather seat not getting a bit saggy in the middle after a lot of use :/

  • Author

Thanks for your reply Nicola.

I think I need to see the Individual Leather in the flesh to really decide as you cant just go by pictures of the designs..

I'm debating about whether to get the standard leather but I'm not sure if that could justify dropping another £700 for it..

James

The sales guys would sell you the blue leather indiviual pack if you asked for it no problem,

It is where all the money is made in i.e extra's

If not say you will go elsewhere

See how quick you are offered it then m8 :)

Best of luck

There are just so many decisions to make - I dont want to start a new thread on this but I dont know whether to go for a Zetec S or Titanium =/

Have you seen this thread?

Might help you decide.

  • Author

Yeah I've been through all of that thread..to be honest I think it'll be the Titanium, purely because of what comes as standard like cruise control and EATC and the fact that you can still have the bodykit on it too

  • 2 weeks later...

Remembered this thread whilst looking at prices of cars and came across this:

Blue Leather interior

If you launch the gallery, you'll see what that individual blue leather interior looks like, but be warned, wear a pair of sunglasses before opening the link... Everyone to their own I guess but IMO it's !Removed! hideous!

I have the Individual pack on my Titanium, i love it to bits! :D

i got my car rather cheap indeed tho and the offer was on a car with the pack already on, but i wanted leather from the start.

If you want some pics i'll take some...?

Oh lol, its been so long since i posted, i forgot they are in my signature! XD

Edited by TitaniumBeard

I don't have the individual pack, I just have the blue dash and door cards, but I have the leather pack which includes blue stitching, and heated front seats! B)
