A Few Led Ideas

Featured Replies

Sup dudes, got a few ideas to add to my already well LED'd fiesta:

Puddle LED under door, lights up floor when door opened

LED under exterior door handle

LED in door trays

Let me know if any of you have tried any of these and tell me what you think!

Interesting...share some pictures with the LED lights that you already have ;)

I will when its dark enough for pictures! At the moment I've got rear red footwell led as well as the front, both tapped into the glove box strip. I also have white LED in all 3 courtesy light sockets.

Where did you get the colored LED from?

Google "5LED 501", the ones that have 4 on each edge then 1 on top. Got them off ebay for couple quid

LED under door lights are a good idea, can't be too hard to set up either!

LED in door trays would work nicely, particularly if you already have ambient lighting.

Just be careful you don't turn your car into a disco on wheels!

I agree, do the interior LED's but not the exterior door handle as that would be quite chavvy imo.

Especially colored LED...

Yea gonna scrap the handle idea, fiesta handles aren't ideal for it anyway, you need more of a pocket handle.

Might do the door trays but having trouble thinking about how I'm gonna get them inside the car from door!

This is the rear passenger side tray, under the speaker.

Looks nice, but probably I would go for white or blue. Let's see...

the front & rear footwells are a nice easy start for ya.. and tbh i dont think you need ewt more than that... putting one under the door seems abit to much hassle for what it will be (with getting the door to shut proper again) and the door handle ones seem tacky, you can get them from halfrauds though... i wacked a led strip in the boot does the trick, can actually see in the boot at night now... and for the door trays idea... why? i dont see the bonus from that really... unless you could use it on a feed from the roof lights to search the pockets kinda thing i dunno

Yea after analysing how I would do it earlier on I've begun to think it's probably gonna be more hassle than it's worth, thought I'd see what you guys though about it first :)

I'm thinking about an LED strip for my boot as well, I changed the stock light bulb to a red LED but it doesn't seem to light the boot very well, due to the frosted plastic cover.

Will make my Sub look pretty darn cool as well ;)

You wouldn't have to mount them under the door - though that would probably give the best results - but it could work well mounted underneath the car near the door, set it up to come on when the doors open, not only will you avoid stepping in things you rather wouldn't but approaching cars will be able to clearly see that someone is getting out and leave plenty of space.

Yea good advice there mark, will be tricky because obviously wiring will be exposed if I do it that way, my amp power lead already shows when I open the door so will have to figure something out!

if you looking into boot lights... i just done this... got some audi style drl's with the proper gaps between them... and well never used them for that purpose lol

Nice one Nico, what did you wire them into? The already existing boot light wiring?

Glow Wire

Has any one looked at glow wire, looks good ! Ok this video looks like the guy threw it on the dash , but static ambient glow would look nice.
