New Cat' Fitted - Missing Heat Shield

As per my thread a few weeks ago I today had the catalytic converter replaced on my Focus.

After lifting the bonnet to check the work I noticed the garage have not re-fitted the exhaust manifold heat shield! My questions are as follows:

- Is it normal? Does the heat shield maybe not fit onto after market or OEM cat'?

- Is its absence likely to have any negative effect on my car?

    The heat shield protects the under body from, you guessed it, heat! Go back and get them to finish the job.
