First time on site tonight, about to purchase a Fiesta 1.4Tdci Titanium 09 plate.

Question is, is this engine fitted with DPF.

Your car will defiantly not have a DPF.

All 1.6tdci's in the economic have DPF's.

The new 95ps 1.6tdci engines across the range have DPF's but not the older 90ps's

If you go on the Ford website now the 1.4 TDCi does have DPF - I don't know for certain but this probably changed in March 2010 along with the 90 > 95 DPF 1.6 engine.

On the subject of DPF's, my Fiesta Zetec 1.25 (82PS) was manufactured on 9th September 2010 and, although the user manual mentions a DPF, I'm not actually sure if the 1.25 petrol engines have one. Can anyone confirm this please?

No a DPF is a Diesel Particulate Filter and the 1.25 is a petrol model so not applicable to yours.

Thanks for the information, part xing a focus 1.6Tdci 55 plate which did have DPF.

However this had 100,000 on clock and was experiencing power reducting problems due to overfilled DPF.

Ford recommend DPF replacement at 75,000 though this is an expensive part to supply and fit.

I`m glad to hear my Fiesta doesn`t have DPF and look forward to better fuel economy and cheaper road tax.

Thanks for the info iNath. I don't do any long runs to and from work and I was thinking that I may have to do the occasional 30+ mile run to empty the DPF.

I think its just the 1.6 TDCI that I ended up with :(

Mine is being removed as a I type this though!

I am considering purchasing a Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI 2009 but would like to know if it has a DPF.

There isn't a clear answer online.  I believe the DPF was added to the 1.4 TDCI in 2010.  So a 2009 shouldn't have one.  But the only way to tell for sure is the shape of the exhaust downpipe at the front.  The combined cat & DPF has a much longer wide section than the cat alone.
