Faulty Fuel Guage?

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2010 Fiesta TDCi Edge and was driving to work today when the petrol guage got down to the very bottom of the red (i.e. totally empty). The petrol warning light had been on for 30 miles.

So I filled my car up and it only filled 32 litres of diesel. I thought the Fiesta had a 40litre capacity, so is my fuel guage faulty?

The miles remaining reading will be based on how the previous owners/garage test drives were driven.

Reset all the counters, drive normally and keep and eye on your gauge just in case,

I don't have the trip computer, just the manual petrol guage. I reset the odomoter every time I fill up, is there something else I should reset?

Sorry I forget the Edge model doesn't have trip computer.

As mentioned in another thread - once = ignore, twice = investigate, third = isolate.
