Is The Engine In The Current Mk7 1.4 Fiesta Is The Same As The Mk 6

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the engine in the engine in the current Mk7 1.4 petrol Fiesta is the same as the Mk 6

Also, does it have the same sensors ie MAF, throttle, lambda etc

According to Wikipedia (you can decide for yourself how reliable that is)

Duratec Sigma (Zetec-SE)

1.25 L (1242 cc)

1.4 L (1388 cc)

1.6 L (1596 cc)

2002–present

I think it was only the Fiesta's 1.6 petrol that was updated to:

Duratec Ti-VCT Sigma (Zetec-SE)

1.6 L (1596 cc)

2004–present

And I think the rest stayed the same, though I'm not 100% sure. EDIT: WRONG! read below

Found a more useful link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Sigma_engine#Zetec-SE

80 PS (59 kW; 79 hp)@5700, 124 N·m (91 lb·ft)@3500

2002–2008 Ford Fiesta Mk5 1.4 (what we'd call a Mk6/6.5)

96 PS (71 kW; 95 hp), 125 N·m (92 lb·ft)

2008–Present Ford Fiesta Mk6 (what we'd call a Mk7)

Thanks for that, unfortunatly it does not go into any detail regarding the sensors etc.

the mk7 engines were based on the old ones but which sizes i aint sure and that might make sense when i say the current top 1.2 engine (the 80 odd ps) is designed around the old 1.4 engine
