Instant Consumption

Featured Replies

Hey. I bought the new Ford Fiesta 1.25 Trend last year and my on board computer doesn't show the instant consumption. Is there an update that I can do at the dealership so it will show it? Is it possible? Has anybody done that?

I've never heard of it being done, but I'd like to know if its possible.

Is an instant consumption worthwhile? If I have mine on it goes up and down like the proverbiable 'whores draws' ........ gives no definative information as it moves up and down so fast. To be honest I think this function is dangerous, it distracts your main focus away from the road and you end up head down loosing real life orientation .......... could result in a mishap; I think

I always have mine showing, it makes me try to drive more eco mindedly. All the latest hybrid/electrics have live mileage/range read outs which ends up making you trying to beat your own best - and thats what I find happening to me in my fiesta, which saves me petrol and money. (I'm not like that all the time though, sometimes I like to floor it a bit lol).

You want to spend a bit more of your time watching the road in front of you.

Live consumption is pretty pointless to be fair.

Well it's no difference to checking the speedometer really

I never use instant consumption, seems a bit pointless to me and I certainly don't need a gauge to tell me if I'm driving economically. I always have it set on miles left to empty, but I will use the average mpg total - which should also give you an idea how 'eco' your driving (mines on 58mpg today) :)

I'm the same, have it on miles to empty (its nice to watch the numbers go up most of the time :) ) my average mpg total is on 54.3mpg as of this morning..cars done just under 2000 miles :)

Mine is always on instant mpg - interesting to see how the tiniest difference in pressure on the pedal makes to the amount of fuel used.

Watching the instant MPG is worrying at times  Got mine to say 4.1 MPG at one point  But i do agree, it's a pointless feature. I leave mine on average MPG most of the time. Nice to watch it go up when driving good.... 35.2 so far....

The fact of the matter is, one is important, the other is pointless. ;)

maybe its pointless, maybe its not. that is not the point. I just asked if its possible to have it or not. The reason that I asked is because I know some Fiestas have them, and some don't - that is why I asked if it's possible by update.
