MartynS
My car is approaching a year old now so will soon need its first service. My local garage (where I bought the car), part of Inchcape, quotes £169 for the first year. This seems a bit high, I'm sure others on here have had their first service at around £100. Do garages generally reduce the price if you ask, or is there no haggling margin like there is when buying a car? I always had my old car serviced at a local garage, but want to stick to official Ford for the new one (plus the free breakdown cover is handy). Hence I have no experience of main dealer servicing! Thanks in advance.
DanGull
If you don't like the price - go somewhere else or try and price match between the dealers. My first service was around £100, so I do think that's too much.
dLockers
Usually just sparkies/oil/oil filter. Max £50 in parts at retail price. Hour labour max. Try a different Ford garage.
