Hello,

Has anyone driven both and could give the pros and cons of both. The Eb was our choice as it feels much punchier than the other petrols. However our current diesel is also very punchy and torquey and wondered if the focus diesel is the same. It goes on motorways a lot so want an engine that has that immediate overtaking grunt.

Any thoughts would be greatfully received.

    Hi, I have driven both and each have there virtues, the diesel has better fuel economy and a fairly good mid range punch, but you can still hear it. The ecoboost is a very sweet engine, virtually quiet that has the mix between performance and economy with a excellant mid range. Coming from my car the diesel felt a little 'ploddy', whereas the ecoboost was more lively.
