Seriously Fed Up Fiesta Owner

Featured Replies

As the above says I am so fed up with the quality and reliability of my Fiesta.

So far I have had the following fixed under warrenty after numerous trips back to Ford:

Leather handbreak gator replaced 3 times (Ford wont replace this anymore), steering rack replacement, rattles in the rear, rattles in the dash, steering alignment.

Now the car is booked back in for Friday for the following:

Steering knocking again (thats when last time I had to have the steering rack replaced), when it has been raining when I put the car in reverse it squeeks and also when turning right the car makes another noise coming from the driver's rear wheel, at idle the car engine is juddering whoch you can feel through your feet, car seems to be lacking power, drinking more fuel than usual and the handbrake needs tightening.

Rant over...... I want to know where my rights stand with this as I dont see why I should be having to pay so much on finance on a car that is always breaking? Also have any of you guys had similar problems with your Fiestas?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, hope they get resolved.

I've only really had the occasional rattle from the instrument cluster and some squeaks from the latches from the rear seats.

I think it's also developed a pong from the AC, build up of bacteria or somethin

What's up with the leather gaitor?

Iv'e also had that as well Ironreverse and it still continues except now the car is out of it's 1st year warranty ford wont look at it.

In regards to the leather gator Jmbrown91 it has ripped 3 times due to something under the handbreak or when I move the drivers seat to let people in the back the seat belt clip is brushing past it.

I dont think i'm gonna buy a Ford again

Hmm, was it difficult to get Ford to replace that under warranty? Considering they could have just said you ripped it through 'lack of care'? The reason why I ask is because in my Fiesta I've got the leather handbrake and gearknob gaitors, and I noticed that the gearknob one has got the stitching coming loose on it, been like it for a few weeks..reckon its worth going in and seeing if they'll replace it as it will potentially continue to unstitch itself..

Have you tried removing the plastic surround on the gear stick to have a look? You can just prise it open from the back, it's just held on with clips.

The rear seat latches can be adjusted and should be squeak free aster that. The instrument cluster, I just tap it when it starts to rattle...

The 1st time no but then Ford customer relations became more difficult each time and then eventually said no, they said its due to wear and tear and made out that I had intentionally been doing it myself but why would I do this especially as its something im paying for????? I even spoke with customer relations and they still would not do anything.

I've tried that as well but didnt work haha I end up slamming it shut and that stops it!

Unlucky, seems like par for the course for the Fiesta to be honest once you have reached a certain mileage. Out of interest, how many miles have you done?

I have most of these faults and more, currently sitting at 33,000 miles. Warranty runs out soon so looking to change.

By the looks of it yea, it's done 19k and it's from dec 09

I had juddering, and replaced the spark plugs, solved it for me, but can be caused by many things. Most likely spark plugs if they haven't been changed in the 19,000 miles though.

Hopefully it'll be as simple as that but everything else well..... theyll come back to me and probably for some reason it wont be covered under warranty, we'll see
