Leak Off Pipe Problems

Thanks. So you reckon if I clean em both injector and port re seat them with new copper washers it will hold? That's my next course of action anyway. Besides new o rings and clips on the new aftermarket leak off pipe. Gonna spray some carb cleaner through the UFO shaped fuel return filter. Which btw found the part number. Or think it is but still only couple results on internet and 1 don't have a picture .So it could be wrong.

Yes, that should stop them leaking.  Make sure the clamps are torqued to spec as well.

Well done on the part number.  I think that pipe was superseded on later models and the UFO deleted.  As I couldn't find the correct one either.  That parts label is a very old type which also adds weight to the superseding idea.

While I wait for 17mm flat ream in the seat cleaning kit and copper seals to come, I thought I'd take some multimeter ohms readings. 1, 3 and 4 are reading 15 bang on number 2 is reading 11.45 so am guessing that's done for? As it's nowhere near.

What you think? Thats not a fixer upper is it?

Resistance tests don't really work on modern diesel injectors.  I agree that reading looks odd but not sure whether any of those readings are are useful.

Running a good 4 days now with no leaks. Injectors 2 n 4 re seated cleaned and sealed . And I was still getting leak off pipe popping off after new clips and o rings. But 1 pipe can literally be pulled off by hand without much effort. So I held them on with wire. Not leaked since. I think it's a badly made leak off pipe!

Good that you appear to have stopped the leak but as no leak off test has been done, the amount of pressure generated by excessive leakage hasn't been determined (this would also indicate if any injectors are going faulty. Or am I being pedantic?

No your right. No leak off test or proper fuel pressure test. So I probably have got more leak off than expected. But since cleaning the injectors and replacing copper seal. Definitely had increase in MPG. Just don't want to rock the boat at min as it's working. And only transport for work. I wanted to clean pressure regulator but need something like 42mm open end spanner. Maybe I'll get leak off kit and fuel pressure tester after new tyres, brake pads and few other bits I need to do.

Appreciate your help. Thank you

Hope this helps anyone with same trouble.
