Zetec/duratec

Featured Replies

Hi im wondering if any one can help me. Is it possible to fit a 2003 zetec head on to a 2004 duratec engine? Looking at the two they seem to fit perfectly? But am not sure about the tuning of the two will they both be tuned for the same air/fuel intake etc? Thanks

Sorry on 1.25 mk6 fiesta. Thanks

Someone more experienced will be able to help you, but personally I can't see how it could work.

I'm sure the blocks would be different? There's also oil and water wells for these to flow through the head and around the engine which need to be in the same place and meet up.

Like you said too, they're probably tuned differently. Also the camshafts and valve angles could be different meaning you won't be able to time it up when you replace the timing belt.

Hii they all seem to fit? The head gasket for the zetec and the duratec are the same?

Hi

I think you will find that the only differences on these engines are :-

Different Ecu Location

Alternate Throttle Body Location

Different inlet manifold

Different ECU calibration

Why not get the head ported and skimmed etc

On the fiesta 1.25 everything seems to be in the same place the 2 engines look exactly the same? I think the ecu problem would be the only thing? Do you thibk i could reset the ecu or do i have to get it re-maped?
