Brake Lights Staying On

Featured Replies

Hi all hows it going. I drive a fiesta mk5 1.3i endure e engine 51 plate what it is when i put my foot on the brake pedal and take my foot off the brake lights stay on and then go off. Now this does not happen all the time so i am thinking it's the brake light switch which is located underneath the pedal but the question is where is it and what does it look like if anyone has any pictures that would be great

Thank you alan.

Try spraying some WD40 on the switch.I had the same issue years ago in a MK 3 fiesta and it worked fine again ever since.

good advice on the WD40. it also happened to me on my old mk4, but the switch had actually come unseated from the bracket.

I know most people suggest WD40... but in time it drys up and can cause more problems.

I'd use some Lithium grease..
