Hi all,

I have a query I hope someone can solve. My partner has just bought a used fiesta 2007 and on the back it has Fiesta one side and Style the other, but on the registration document it has Fiesta Zetec Climate??

Having looked on parkers website at all the different models I see it can be either a Style Climate or Zetec Climate so why does it say Style on the car and Zetec Climate on V5?

Any help appreciated as this has confused me no end.

Thanks in advance

Cliff

this is just a cosmetic error.

it would make more sence if the car said zetec and the logbook said style as the style model is the most basic, next up to that is zetec then Ghia followed by titanium then titanium X

your car is a zetec model which just explains the spec of the car, if you purchased a zetec for the cost of a style you got a bargin, the performance is the same but its the extras in the zetec are not in the style, if you get me?:D

cheers mate you dont know any differences between style climate and zetec climate

Have you tried looking up your registratoion or VIN on Ford Etis

yes looked on there just thought there may be something amiss as says style on car and zetec in paperwork

thanks anyway

the zetec has lower suspension, possibly cruise control, (not an option on a style) better styled alloy wheels,

possibly brake discs in the back wheels instead of drums, Fog lights, maybe a heated windscreen,

im sure their are other indications but they are some to start with.

The Zetec does not have lower suspension, cruise control or rear discs. I used to have a 2006 Zetec Climate before this one. Unfortunately I don't know the difference between Style & Zetec, usually just small interior changes & fog lights.

over the style, the zetec had 15" alloys and front fogs. it also had a mini lip spoiler at the back as standard.

that's what CAP says anyway

The Zetec Climate has, Air Con, Electric Heated Windscreen and Mirrors, Electric Folding Mirrors and an AUX connection as standard. It will also have either 15 or 16 Inch alloy wheels. The Style Climate will not have alloy wheels (but it may have air con and the aux not sure on those). If the car has wheel trims then youve got a style if it has alloys you have a zetec. Your best bet is to check what you're insurance says on it as that will be set to the licence plate and will probably be right.

And finally what type of garage did you buy from or was it a private sale?

If it was a private sale or non-franchised second hand car garage then send the licence plate number to a carspotter style service and make sure the VIN numbers on the car match what it tells you as well as the v5 you'd be astonished at how many cars are clones out there. I wouldnt be surprised if the previous owner tried to make a zetec look like a style to save on insurance. That way if they claim its a style have an accident the insurance company see style and assume a misprint on the v5 (that wouldnt work btw thats me saying what the previous owner might have thought would happen)

thanks for replies

it does have alloys and heated windscreen air con and aux connection but does not have folding mirrors. it was bought from a main dealer Haynes of Maidstone and have since taken it back to them and they replaced the style badge with a zetec badge

Thanks again
