I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 2002

recently about 2-5mins after starting and driving off the car will lose power and judder a little with the engine warning light on for a few minutes then itl all be fine no further problems at all.... until now anyhow, the car keeps losing power and without a way to much on the acceleration it will stall it was definately a miss-fire ive found the spark plug as the car is now running fine without the spark plug connect to the ht lead BUT whether its actually the spark plug or the ht lead i do not know? plus fact a faulty ht lead/spark plug doesnt fit with whats been happening (the loss of power slight juddering then everything okay AND now the engine completely stalling and struggling to keep going with it in yet disconnect ht lead and the enginee will run smoother

so whats the fault is it as simple as the spark plug needing replacing or is there a bigger picture? ive been doing some googling and people who have had a faulty ignition coil have had the EXACT same problem were having except mine has escilated to the spark plug problem

so anyone else who have had the symptoms or know if its more than the spark plug?

For loss of power mate have you checked the coil pack on the exhaust, cars can loose power because of a faulty coil pack fitting!

maybe change fuel and air filters while youve got the bonnet open mate, so it can breath easier when you change the distributer and plugs.

also keep a close eye on the oil level during this time, as its probably using more due to the combustion difficultys
