Do you think comparison websites are misleading?

I heard that insurers do not make much money if any from comparison site sales and its all about the second year renewal. Have you ever found that the second year renewal from insurance companies you purchased via comparison sites more expensive? And when you get another fresh quote from comparison website thats it’s much cheaper than the renewal?

    I think they are brilliant, as a general rule it saves a lot of hassle.

    My last premium I got quotes online from the comparison sites - then as a general rule - I always go to apply directly to the site with the cheapest insurance...

    Suprisingly, on getting a quote directly from the site (with no difference in details at all) the price was Higher by £45 -thats direct!

    So I bought my last policy for 1020.00 from Admiral, they renewed my policy automatically (thankfully!) at a cost of 771.54! phoned them up direct for another quote a couple of days later to find they wanted an additional 200.00 if I wanted to change the policy...

    Sometimes you get a better deal by finding the cheapest on a comparison site, then visiting them direct, sometimes like I have found, you can get it cheaper through the comparison agents...
