Door Trim Bass Rattle

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. My door card rattles whenever there is bass in the music and its driving me insane as the only way to avoid it is to turn bass off which sounds even worse (im a musical guy I play in bands manage a band and enjoy music so it really irritates me)

Is there a fix to this? Its a mk7 and its only 2 years old so I am wondering whether I could get a warranty repair done? haha

depends how serious you take your music, but aren't you tempted to uprate the system and sound deaden the doors and pad any rattles yourself?

I like the system as is and wouldnt know where to start with sound deadening tbh. I think one of the fixes has snapped as the tray at the bottom comes away and if I pull it away it stops the rattle. Would Ford fix that? lol

As long as it doesn't look like accidental damage.... possibly.

I doubt Ford would fix that , but you should be able to get some replacement clips from ford or fleabay

small wad of cardboard and slide it between the two pannels, will absorb the shock and stop the rattle,

have to use your resources in the recession times :D

it will work until you get somthing to fix it proper

ford (if you take it in and mention it) will sort it, as its just caused by there being to large of a gap between the door and the door card, but if you want to DIY it for the time-being, as stated above, slide a piece of paper card what ever through the gap and make sure it moves it further off so non of the loose bit is in contact... worked for me

I forgot to mention that its done it since I picked it up 3 weeks ago but I work alot so havent really got the time to take it in so I'm glad it sounds like they will sort it. I will try the cardboard thing too when I wake up (I work nights ha)
